The Bulimba Festiva l- Brisbane 2015

After initially being cancelled, the Bulimba Festival is back on! It is being held from the 9th-15th of November, 2015. The Bulimba Festival has been transformed into a week-long celebration of the community and inner-city living in Brisbane. It is sure to be a great week with special events lined up for each day.
Bulimba is reportedly a Turrubal word used by the Coorparoo clan meaning ‘place of the magpie lark’. It is located 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north-east of the CBD, on the southern bank of the Brisbane River.
Bulimba Festival Launch
The Bulimba Festival kicks off on Monday 9th November at 7am from the Bulimba Ferry Terminal.
Come out and enjoy the fusion of community, art and music. There will be a gift to Bulimba from the Bulimba Festival Team.

Tasting Tuesday
Tasting Tuesday is a new concept for the 2015 festival. From breakfast until dinner festival goers will be given the opportunity to try tasting dishes showcasing the delicious food from local restaurants and cafes, accompanied by matching wines where appropriate.
Remembrance Wednesday
Remembrance Wednesday is a special day in honour of those who have sacrificed their lives for us. A special installation of 97 Poppies in the Park created by Saltie Craft and volunteers is going to be on display – one poppy for each year since the First World War.
Truck into Thursday
Thursday is set to pump up the energy. There will be skateboarding and hip hop workshops; Truck in at Oxford 152 with awesome food trucks and dancing in the dark with No Lights No Lycra. This is going to be a really fun day and night.
Festival Friday
The Bulimba cinema is very well known and we celebrate our movie addiction with a special festival Movies in the Park for grown-ups courtesy of Cr Shayne Sutton. There will be a screening of “Muriel’s Wedding” and a competition for the most terrible outfit- time to drag those 80’s threads out and win a prize.
River Regatta
2015 also brings the first River Regatta. Taking place at the bend in the river at the end of Quay Street to experience outriggers, pilates, sailing races, kids fun, the Bulimba Vet Pet Parade and live music at Bulimba Golf Club.
